I'll stamp all over 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really happening.
